Our Historic Office

National Register of Historic Places

The building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places, and greatly restored by it’s former owner.

Today

We are the lucky stewards who took ownership of this local treasure in November, 2022. We are in the process of a few interior updates to use this space as our day to day office.

We have plans to offer the office up for private and public functions in the future. Reach out to Ashley to inquire!

Est. 1881

The Forestville Passenger Station was built in 1881 by the New York and New England Railroad. The train serviced downtown Bristol and the surrounding towns with about 13 daily trains until 1960.

It’s Design

The former station abuts the Pequabuck River. It is a single-story wood framed structure, with a bracketed cornice and hipped roof topped by a louvered cupola and finial. The platform shelter extends from the station supported by square posts and angled brackets. The building originally had a two-story tower, which was lost to fire in 1900.
